Paul Mascall
I started studying Physics (BSc- 2nd year
entry) at Dundee University in September
2011, before which I attended college in
Leeds.
I finished my first A-levels at Lawnswood
Sixth Form in 2009, but unsure of what I
wanted to do with my (then) current set of
subjects, I decided to study Biology,
Chemistry and Physics A-levels at Leeds City
College- where I developed a strong interest
in Physics, and subsequently decided to
pursue a degree in it.
In order to study Physics at university, I sat
the full Mathematics A-level in my second year
and started an 'extended research project' in
robotics. At the same time, I also became the
student representative of AS & A2 Physics,
co-organiser of the annual 'Bigfish' college
music event, and acted as Treasurer &
Secretary of the 3rd largest further education
Student Union in the UK.
My current goal is to complete an MSci at
Dundee University, and then go on to study a
PhD.
Paul M is the newest addition to the URG,
and is currently developing a project on
minimum energy surfaces - which sounds
dead fancy, until you learn that it's all about
blowing bubbles [albeit bubbles with
overlapping relevance to cosmological
structures!].  PC
